M.A.L.E.s Ireland Spring gathering in Castletown

Let us once again join together to celebrate the awakening of the blessed earth and bring to birth our own drum.

 10th to 12th March

Following on from our last gathering where we had mentioned that we would be running a "make your own drum" weekend where Vispi will guide and lead us through crafting and birthing our own drum and joining with it, we are delighted to tell you that it's scheduled for the above dates. In a sense the heartbeat of the animal and our own become one and we continue our journey together. The cost for the weekend will include all your accommodation, food and all the materials you will need to fashion your new companion as you travel together on your life's journey.

Native Americans believe the drum often helps bring the physical and mental side of a person back in touch with their spiritual side. Just like many things in the Native American culture, the drum is used to bring balance and renewal to a person through participation in dancing, singing or listening to the heartbeat. To them the drum was regarded as a living entity. The drum is viewed simultaneously as a spiritual guardian and a musical instrument, a living tradition and a reference to a past way of life. So come along and take hold of that gift which is meant to be yours and has been waiting for you.

The weekend is limited to 30 men and already 15 have registered their interest, so don't delay as the places are filling up fast. To book your place all you need to do it to send a deposit of €170 as this will help to cover the cost of the hides and materials you will need.

Really looking forward to sharing time with you if you can make it.

The venue is Castletown, Co Laois which is very central for those traveling from the four corners of Ireland. For those traveling from the UK or mainland Europe simply pop the Eircode into Google Maps and it will take you straight to the venue.

Address:    Castletown, Portlaoise, Co Laois

Eircode:     R32 FK02

Registration for this event is mandatory for logistical and catering purposes.

The cost for the weekend is €350 for a standard room or €400 with En Suite. This includes all your meals, accommodation and all the materials needed to birth your own drum. Please insert your name in the narrative when making your payment.

We are very aware that everybody's financial situation is different. The most important thing is for men to come together, so please do not let costs put you off from joining us at this gathering. The rates listed above are guidelines (to help us to break even) but if they are prohibitive, please let us know. Your presence is most welcome and wanted, and we are eager to hear your voice in the sacred circle as we sit with each other and our ancestors.

This is a great opportunity to gather once again in the great brotherhood to which we belong!
